Located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide, Olympic Dam is a part of BHP's Minerals Australia operation. It's made up of underground and surface operations and operates a fully integrated processing facility from ore to metal.

Bedrock Geo's engagement included providing a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical support and training of the site based Geotech team. We’re also overseeing a maintenance and expansion seismic system project.

Olympic Dam Mine, South Australia

The M6 Motorway project is a large-scale multi-lane road development aimed at enhancing connectivity in Sydney’s south, planned over three stages. Stage One features the construction of continuous twin tunnels, each approximately 4 km in length.

Bedrock Geo's engagement on this project included providing field resources for underground geological face mapping, advice on ground support and in situ testing of the advancing tunnels.

M6 Tunnel, Sydney

Bedrock Geo were engaged by WSP / Golder to assist with the lead design engineering alliance to complete their geotechnical site investigations.

Suburban Rail Loop, Melbourne

The Geelong Fast Rail project aims to reduce travel times between Geelong and Melbourne to around 50 minutes. The project includes constructing new express tracks and upgrading bridges, stations, and signalling systems.

Geelong Fast Rail, Victoria

Melbourne Airport Rail is set to provide a much needed rail connection between Tullamarine Airport and the CBD, and is forecast to commence construction by 2025. Early works packages have been completed to make way for the proposed alignment.

Bedrock Geo's engagement on this project included providing Field Managers and Field Resources for managing the field investigation, supervising drill rig operations, subcontractor coordination, logging and in-situ testing as part of the combined Geotechnical and Environmental site investigation. This engagement also involved numerous rail occupations along the alignment both day and night.

Melbourne Airport Rail

Queensland Hydro have identified a second pumped hydro energy storage (PHES) site approximately 75km west of Mackay, supplementing the Borumba project. Queensland Hydro are now undertaking in-depth technical, geotechnical, environmental, social, and cultural assessments to explore the feasibility of a long-duration PHES facility at this site.

Pioneer Burdekin Pumped Hydro, Queensland

As part of Victoria’s Big Build, 6.5km North East Link tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen will be constructed to fix the missing link in the city’s freeway network, take 15,000 trucks off local roads a day and reduce travel times by up to 35 minutes.

Bedrock Geo's engagement on this project included providing field resources for supervising drill rig operations, subcontractor coordination, logging, in-situ testing and assisting in the core shed as part of the Geotechnical and Environmental site investigation.

North East Link, Melbourne

Consulting to Tetratech Coffey with involvement on the Geotechnical Drill Program as part of the ongoing design and construction phase of site investigation.

Sydney Gateway Project

Bedrock Geo's engagement with Exact Geoscience in Daylesford has been on-going since 2020 and has incorporate geological mapping, sampling, core / RC logging and costeaning across their tenements in central and north eastern gold fields of Victoria.

Daylesford Gold Exploration Sampling, Victoria

South Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication scope includes upgrading facilities and accessibility at South Geelong and Marshall stations, duplicating approximately 8km of track, adding over 5km of new walking and cycling paths, and implementing signalling upgrades.

Bedrock Geo's engagement on this project included providing a Field Manager to coordinate and manage 4 No. drill rigs, service locating, test pit excavation and traffic management for the geotechnical and environmental site investigation.

Southern Geelong to Waurn Ponds Duplication, Victoria

Bedrock Geo's engagement with Exact Geoscience in Daylesford has been on-going since 2020 and has incorporate geological mapping, sampling, core/RC logging and costeaning across their tenements in central and northeastern goldfields of Victoria.

Gold Exploration, Victoria

The Murray Basin Rail Project focuses on enhancing Victoria's rail freight capabilities to address rising industry demand. The project's scope includes completed track upgrades on the Ouyen to Murrayville Line to remove speed restrictions. Additional infrastructure improvements feature new or upgraded sidings, enhancing storage capacity, and the construction of new and extended passing loops.

Ouyen Rail Upgrade, Victoria

The Oak Dam deposit, located on Kokatha country (South Australia), 65km south-east of Olympic Dam, is a deep iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) mineralised system. BHP currently have a large exploration programme of the potential resource.

Bedrock Geo's engagement on this project is geotechnical logging. The information gathered from the geotechnical logging will be used in the geotechnical modelling and design of the future underground mine.

Oak Dam, South Australia

The Julimar Nickel-Copper-Platinum Group Element (Ni-Cu-PGE) Exploration Project forms part of Chalice’s large-scale exploration portfolio in the new West Yilgarn Province. The new province is entirely unexplored and is considered one of the most exciting new nickel sulphide provinces globally.

Bedrock Geo's has been engaged on the project by providing field geologists to assist with the exploration programme. This campaign involved thousands of meters of core logging and processing as the Client expanded their exploration footprint.
